Hiking

Hiking: The Appalachian Trail has been estimated to have  2-3 million people visit it every year. The Appalachian Trail is one of the longest continuously marked footpath in the world, measuring roughly 2,180 miles in length. The Trail goes through fourteen states along the crests and valleys of the Appalachian mountain range from the southern terminus at Springer Mountain, Georgia, to the Trail’s northern terminus at Katahdin, Maine.

Harrah's Casino

Harrah's Valley River Casino & Hotel in Cherokee County is  a project of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.  The location is an 85-acre tract of tribal land in the Western North Carolina Mountains near U.S. 1/74.  This is an hour from Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee NC and two hours from Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Atlanta.  The 60,000 sq. ft. casino features an eight story hotel with 300 + rooms & suites.  It is a class III (live dealers) gaming casino.

National Forest: A walk through Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest is a journey back in time through a magnificent forest with towering trees as old as 400 years. John C. Campbell Folk School provides experiences in non-competitive learning and community life that are joyful and enlivening. Located in scenic Brasstown, North Carolina, the Folk School offers year-round weeklong and weekend classes for adults in craft, art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography and writing.  The campus is just 4 minutes from our cabins.
